Support the PTA
The PTA currently needs Committee Chairs for:

BINGO Night: This committee will promote and plan our BINGO Night. It also coordinates volunteers to help set up, serve pizza and clean up at the event.

Communications:

Craft Night: Are you a crafty person? Our first Craft Night, which was held in early December last year, was a great success and we plan on doing it again this year. The goal is to give the kids the opportunity to spend an evening with their favorite adult while creating a holiday gift for another loved one. This is a fun event and the organizers of the previous year will mentor you every step of the way.

PTA Donations: Works with local businesses and other interested parties in the community to secure donations for various events.

Environmental/Recycling: Encourages students to protect their environment at school and in the community through environmental education and recycling projects.

PTA Fundraising/Cub Track: The Cub Track is our major fundraiser and we need somebody to head up this event. This means organizing a committee of volunteers, determining a date (usually in October), choosing and ordering t-shirts and prizes, collecting the pledge sheets, and supervising the activities during the Cub Track. After the event, you (and your volunteers) will collect money and give out the prizes. This is a big project - but you will have the help of the previous organizers. Maybe you have a friend or two in mind who can co-chair with you?

Labels for Education: Campell's "Labels for Education" allows us to purchase school items for free from their catalog with the points we earn. We need somebody to promote the collection of the labels throughout the school and count the collected labels periodically. That's a job which can easily be done in the convenience of your home.

Reindeer Lane: Reindeer Lane is a litte gift shop at school which will be open for one week in December. This is a great fundraiser for the PTA and a fun way for the kids to buy inexpensive presents for friends and relatives. The committee chair is in charge of setting up the shop and making sure that

Helping Hands: The school and the PTA always needs "helping hands". No matter if you have an hour to spare or a day. There are so many different volunteer opportunities. Please check out the {volunteer} tab on the right and find the perfect volunteer job for you. It feels good to help and your kids will learn so much by watching you contribute your time and talent.

If you are interested in being a Committee Chair, please contact your PTA President, Sara Norris.

The PTA has many other volunteer opportunities, both on-going and short term:

Baking for Events: The hospitality committee is looking for a few great cooks who can send in delicious homemade treats for the general teachers meetings.

Hospitality: The hospitality committee organizes two or three teacher luncheons/breakfasts usually with the help of local businesses or volunteers, who donate food items. Heather Harvell is the coordinator for this chair.

Room Parent: Works with the classroom teacher to assist with classroom activities and serves as a liaison to parents for disseminating information, assists the teachers with classroom celebrations and with recruiting volunteers and obtaining donations for Spring Fling, and coordinates Teacher Appreciation Week activities. Heather Harvell and Kelly Hammock are the room parents' coordinators.

Spirit Wear: Indira Armes can always use a few helping hands to sell Spirit Wear at our PTA events throughout the year.

Spring Fling: The committee chair Sheri Lawton needs volunteers to plan, organize and set-up the fun-filled day in Spring.

Wellness and Safety: This committee assists in events to promote the health and well being of students, parents and staff of Ivy Creek. Please contact Sara Norris if you interested in volunteering.

Yearbook Committee: This committee is responsible for producing an annual yearbook to commemorate the school year. The committee chair is Jodi Monaghan and the main task is to take pictures and to promote the sales of the yearbook. This project is on-going from day one until approximately February, and then distribution will be one or two days in May.

If you are interested in helping, please contact the Committee Chair or your Volunteer Coordinator and check this website frequently for updates!
